Vacation is within reach!!

Ok, so it's been awhile. Some exciting stuff has happened over the last month, and more exciting stuff is yet to come. My last post has left off at Blue Mountain. Since then, I went back there a few times, the teaching season has finished, and I can't believe that winter is pretty much over in Ontario. The last month of winter though, proved to be great. We had some awesome weather, great riding conditions, and I successfully completed the CASI Level 2 course. It took a second try on the teaching aspect, but it's all really because I choked on giving feedback the first time. Oh well. Got it a week later, no big deal. My goals and aspirations as a Snowboard Instructor really just include this as a part of a big process of getting to be the best I can be, and ultimately one day, I would LOVE nothing more than to have my Level 4, but this is years away. I will slowly climb this ladder, build and proceed forward with this endeavor. I know I have phenomenal support and guidance from some very amazing people in my life, who helped me get this far, and whom I know will only continue to do so in the future. So I THANK YOU ALL!!

So sadly, the teaching season has wound up. We had a good party, took over a pub in Milton, some people got sloppy, most of us did not. It was great seeing everyone, out of uniform, having a good time. Obviously some people were missing because of work/vacations and would have loved to have had them there, but alas, it's understandable. There are pictures on facebook.

My Uncle had his 40th birthday as well, which really means we're all getting older, so I made him a wicked cake. He loves the Titanic. What's better than a sinking ship cake for your 40th birthday? Nothing. LOL

A couple of my best friends in the whole entire world now have a beautiful baby girl. Riley Marie was born on March 26th, and she's cute as a freakin button. I love her already, and will spoil her rotten. That's what good Aunties do!! xoxo

AND NOW- It's almost VACATION TIME!!! OMG SO EXCITED!!
On April 7th, I head to YYZ, and I'm leaaaaavvvvinn on a jet plane!! But I know when I'll be back again. I'm going to BC for the better part of a month. I fly back in on May 3rd. I have some loose plans, but will include:
-Whistler, the 1st weekend of Telus world ski & snowboard festival. Going April 15th-17th.
-Tofino! Visiting Kim! I'll be going out there April 18th-24th. Learning to surf. Hanging out. Beach bummin' it.
-Capilano Suspension Bridge and treetop walkway tour. So cool!
-Stanley Park- renting a bike and doing the seawall. Or walking it. either way, I think I will spend more than one day discovering this park.
-Many hours spent walking downtown
-Hanging out with Dave!! Whom I haven't seen in like 5 years, easily. I'm pumped to see him. We're gonna party!!
- Hanging with my Uncle Steve and family. I don't get to see these amazing people near as much as I want to. AND I get to help them move! cool stuff!!

I will try to blog while I'm out there. Anyway....

RANDOM THOUGHTS!!
- Cats aren't the best laundry helpers.
- Trying to figure out what to pack, to go away for a month is fuckin' hard. I'm currently putting that off.
- Too many guys read too much into what women really mean. If we say we don't give a fuck about whatever it may be, we usually don't. Unless we're lying.
- If someone lies about how they feel about being in a situation, it's their own fuckin' fault if they're angry/upset/uncomfortable. Fuckin' speak your mind, and feelings or you'll only have yourself to blame.
- Snowboarding is my most favourite thing to do on this entire planet. If I could ride all year round, I seriously would.

If it wasn't the Hard way, it would be No way!

Saturday February 19th 2011. Seemed like a nice day to go snowboarding, and the riding was great, except for the the to and from parts!! My partner in crime for this fine adventure was the excellent Christine, and there was no lack of laughs and fun, and sometimes we laughed so hard we almost peed ourselves, but rest assured, we didn't. Sometimes it was close though! lol.

Christine and I got in my car at 7:30am. Proceeded up hwy 10, get passed by a d-bag and grab gas in Orangeville. When filling up, that same d-bag was at the pump in front of us, blasting some really terrible music, filling up his suv while still running. This prompts a Christine moment- "I hope someday you explode!" LMAO! This comment was repeated a few times this fine day. We keep on driving up, and we encounter white outs! Another d-bag decides that even though everyone else has lights and hazards on, he wasn't going to do this, so I almost rear end him in a white out- because the motherfucker couldn't turn on his fucking lights. I used my horn profusely and flashed all the lights I had at him, but to no avail, never did he turn them on. I kept on the horn every so often, just because I hated him. We get to Blue Mountain and find out later that the roads got closed after we made it through, and lock up our boards to get ready. Some other awesome d-bag decided to lock their boards up beside ours- with their highbacks up, therefore trapping our boards in place. This was not cool- and I was so ready to remove bindings after almost an hour. The guy who locked his board up on the other end came, and once his was out we wiggled ours free and started a wicked day. We had a constant musical filled with colourful comments, party bars and good times. Lunch came and we found Burton Sleeper hoodies on sale for 1/2 price, so that was wicked too.

At the end of our most excellent day the third bad thing happened. I knew there was going to be a third, as two leads to three usually. We got to the car, and the battery was dead. I swore I turned off the lights, guess not. Asking around, we found an awesome family that came to our rescue. We drove home, and I went to bed.

Random Thoughts:
- Some people should explode.
- I should have removed the bindings and left a nasty note.
- Lights are CRUCIAL in white out conditions!
- I need a flip up sign thats customizable on my car so I can tell other drivers how I feel.
- The chairlift party doesn't start til the party bar goes down. Only after that can you mingle.

It's one of THOSE days...

What I mean by that is- whatever could go wrong for awhile, did. Then it got better, so I was quite happy and am still. My day started nicely, got up, got ready and then with 5 minutes until I had to walk out the door to go to work, I picked up my snowpants. Then I got reeeeeaaaally angry, as Mr.Frodo, my kitty, had peed on them sometime overnight. I thank goodness that the only thing this was making me late for was riding my brand new WICKED snowboard that I bought on the weekend, but I was really excited to ride it, so I was pretty angry about that until I hopped on it. So I tried my hardest to clean them as best I could- and left the house. I am on the 410- past Steeles, and realize that I forgot my phone (which didn't bother me too much) AND MY CUP OF TEA. Said CUP OF TEA makes me feel human in the morning. I'm not quite right until I have it, not gonna lie. Then I turned on the foot blower in the car, and all I could smell was cat pee. Gross. So I lovingly called my pants 'pee pants' for the rest of the day.

Work is always awesome- despite pee pants today. I rode the new board, it's a beauty. I love it. I brought the ladies in my ladies day class through the tunnel of success (again for 2 of them) and we had a great time working on turning on new terrain. So happy for those women and proud of their progress. Lunch was wicked good today. Cauliflower and cheese soup was amazing, pasta salad and a cupcake with chocolate icing and sprinkles. SO GOOD. Nancy was awesome (as she always is) and took my 12:40 lesson because the pee pants needed some more febreeze. 2pm cancelled, the weather was awesome, and I was inside doing paperwork. No worries, tomorrow will be better. I ended my awesome afternoon with a great lesson, an adult, she was good. The sun was out, I got warm, so I shed the jacket (i can, if i'm wearing black) and then the sun went behind the clouds. Attack of the bad luck day strikes again.

My bad day got better, when I no longer had to wear the pee pants (which are clean now, and drying) and I got home to find my new camera was delivered today! The other new thing I got recently was yes, the new board. Saturday, I went to Corbett's, and Jon was the man and found me my new ride. so good.

Random thoughts:
- taking your snowboard off, at the top of boomerang, and not holding on to it, makes for a funny scene. Thank goodness no one got hurt.
- cats are fucking weirdos.
- retro weekend is the greatest event ever.
- I really fucking love snowboarding.
- Sundays are for watching She-Ra, before I go to work. I'm done disc 3 of 12, so I have lots to go. Note- She-Ra is actually entertaining, and not as stupid as I thought it would be.
- Valentine's day is a sham of a holiday, however the chocolate idea is wicked.
- My Parental Units are awesome.
- My trip to BC is less than 2 months away, and my Level 2 is less than 2 weeks away. excited much? yesss!!

Responsibility Code My Ass.

It's Thursday. This entire week has been cold as hell, and I'm ready for it to warm up a bit. I'm not asking for much, just a windchill of warmer than -15 please. I LOVE winter, and I mean that with every ounce of my soul, but seriously, this bitter cold is really not cool anymore. One more day of it, but let's stay reasonable. Mother Nature, you could be a reasonable woman, however if you've got PMS and are itching to make people pay for whatever, please leave me out of it. I recycle, compost and try to do everything I can to help keep our world on track, so what's with this weather??? I guess I can't complain too much though, at least the sun has been out mostly, and there was a wicked rainbow visible in this small wispy cloud above the escarpment the other day on my way into work. It was wicked pretty.

On Wednesday night, while having a most excellent session with fellow instructors, I was taken out from behind by one retard on a snowboard. He and his friends were and continued to be giant douchebags, and his apology seemed less than sincere. I'm a little sore a day later. I couldn't hear him coming because he was riding flat base, going straight. I bet the fucker has no idea how to turn, or do anything productive on his snowboard. In fact, I think it should be taken away from him. I really kind of want to go back, and spring to my feet and punch him in the face. Not cool, not at all. So yeah, I'm glad I'm not actually hurt, because that would have totally sucked.

My random thoughts for now...
-Car!! Game On!!
-watching kids fall on their faces after you've told them that it would happen if they put their toes down, is mildly funny.
-I love snowboard sessions. It's so nice to get positive feedback.
-I'm going to love dinosaur shaped sandwiches.
-Hand warmers are the greatest things on earth for hands on a cold day.
-TGIF

xoxo all!

One of these days...

Wow so I started this on wednesday. I need to post it as my computer is retarded and I can't type a double letter or backspace more than once. Motherfucking technology can kiss my as$.

Random Thoughts.
-Hugs make the world a happier and better place.
-Today's session was brought to you by the phrase "no room for relationships, theres just room to hit it" and all thanks go to Naughty by Nature.
-Riding all day and having a mogul session at night is murder on the knees and jelly legs.
-Realizing you need a new board mid season sucks, as prodeals are almost all over and done with.
-Snow days are effin' wicked.

All signs point to a beautiful day off.

Wake up at 8:30am- intend to sleep only another half hour- and wake up at 11:15am. Sleep in accomplished. So very happy about that, and feel most excellent today. Doing laundry is a necessary evil, especially when I have no more clean pairs of snowboard socks which are essential this time of year, so the laundry got done. Everything was awesome. I left the house, bank, mall -to get passport photos and ended up buying some Clinique 3 step products I am almost out of. (Seriously, the best face care regimen on this planet, hypo-allergenic, fragrance free) Good mall trip, as I didn't leave there with stuff I really don't need. I drove clear across town with my passport app to get my mom to guarantor it- realizing that I didn't have her passport number. FUCK! Had to drive home. People on the road yet again are retarded at 3:30pm. Got my shit together and left for the passport office- you would think that when turning left at a light, you have to turn into the left hand lane, right?? WRONG. The on ramp to the 410N is close to the intersection I turn on to Queen. People think it's fuckin' awesome to turn left into the very right lane... which is 2 lanes from where they should be. Fuckers. Thank god I didn't turn until after the retards finished turning and slammed on their brakes. Seriously. Why do people turn into retards as soon as they get behind the wheel?? This isn't even the best part- merging on to 410N is. I merge, make a lane change, and all of a sudden, the retard who turned into the right lane on queen is talking on his phone and trying to merge right into my passenger side. I cut bait quick and lost the guy, needless to say.

Passport office. People get so bent out of shape having to go there, wait in lines and wait a long time. I got there at 4:05pm, and was in my car leaving at 4:20pm. Best passport office ever. I look forward to renewing in 5 years, at this same office.

I will make cupcakes this evening for my co workers to enjoy tomorrow. It's baked goods Friday for the day staff at Glen Eden. I like to bake, so this works out quite nicely.

More Random Thoughts...
-The word Dirty means good/awesome. If something is really dirty good and better than awesome, it can be filthy. Filthy is as good as it gets!
-Telling someone you don't want them to be your boyfriend is worse to do on the internet than in person. Repetition tends to be necessary because obviously the person cannot hear inflection in your voice.
-The Passport office isn't as bad as it seems- just go to the right one.
-Just because there's a bonus in April, doesn't mean you have to wait to buy that thing you need.
-I've seen too many people with Justin Bieber hair. Including girls.
-I quit smoking last March. Huzzah and congrats to me. However, I can smell your smoke on the ski hill from a mile away and it makes me want to be physically sick.
-Some guys are like bad habits, you know they're bad for you, but you just go back for more. It's time to drop them- cold turkey. This one is for a friend. She knows.
-It's not too late to stop giving a fuck. Just do it.

The Pain is worth it.

I've had a long last few days. Going to catch up on sleep tonight and hope my muscles feel better tomorrow. However, I love my job and couldn't think of anything else in the would I'd want to do more than snowboard 5 days a week and spread the love to the masses. I am truly happy out there. This really leaves me no time for myself though. It's only for so long, so the fatigue is just going to be a part of my day to day living in the evening. Shit, it's a hard life eh? LOL. I had a most excellent evening last night, it was snowing, pretty and the snow was awesome. Looking up into the sky while it's snowing is something I haven't done in awhile, so I took the real simple pleasure of watching the snow fall and catch the snowflakes on my tongue. I like to take time to experience life's simple pleasures every once and awhile. I also appreciated the guy who gave me the finger for no reason on the 401 this evening. He braked because he was on this other guys ass, and that meant when I braked, I ended up on his ass for 1/2 second... so he felt the need too open his window and flash his finger, so I retaliated, and drove away.

I have some thoughts...albeit random ones, but some thoughts nonetheless.

-The less I give a fuck about most things, the happier I'll be.
-I have no time to create and maintain any meaningful emotional relationships, thus is why I remain single. It's also more fun.
-My friends are who I like to spend my friday nights with. Sitting on the couch with my best friends watching movies and playing video games is my speed on friday night. Thanks guys, you know who you are, and I love you all.
-I have a problem with buying outerwear. I own 3 sets of jacket/snowpants combinations. I am currently looking for pants to match another coat I bought.
-People probably don't take me seriously. Ever. Sometimes it's better that they don't.
